Record male winner and second quickest woman made it London's best ever marathon

Record attemptees:

33 Guinness Book World Records were broken while running this year's London Marathon.
 
Backwards runner Karl finally missed his target.

Uli Kilian - 100 rubic cubes solved while running (Foto Sauer)

Rubik Runner:

Uli Kilian of Cologne now is part of the Guinness Book! He solved 100 cubes while running through  London in 4:45.

GWR - fastest bride (Foto Sauer)

Brides' time:

Eleanor Franks now is the world's fastest marathon bride after she finished 26.2 miles within 4:11:01.

The Royal Couple (Foto Sauer)

Omnipresent:

The Royal couple is presented by Jennifer Jennings and together reaches the finish line in front of Buckingham Palace after 6:34:20.

Female Elite:

Ladies traditionally do it without pacemakers in London. Defending champion Shobakova self-confidently moves to the front, but later on she's not able to follow accelerating Keitany.

Kenyan Duel for 2nd place:

Martin Lel is famous for his speed power after running 26 miles. On the Mall he catches his compatriot Patrick Makau and finishes ahead of him with exactly the same time.

Lel now leads the male London medal ranks holding 3 golds and 2 silvers. Second is Portugese Pinto (3-1-3).

Course record:

Winning by new course record is rewarded with 280.000 $.
Emmanuel Mutai sets himself at rank 4 on the historic world's best list.

Mary Keitany (Foto Sauer)

Mary Keitany (KEN):

Mary Keitany ran her only second marathon and finds herself within the exclusive club of sub 2:20 women! She is the fastest London champion second to Paula Radcliffe.

Emmanuel Mutai - Bettina Nick (Foto Sauer)

Finisher:

Emmanuel Mutai finished runner-up in previous London and New York marathons. He had to wait long for his first important victory. However, now he leads the WMM rankings.

German Bettina Nick can be happy as well. She ran her fastest marathon for five years.
